about

This album is being released posthumously
and is comprised of a few tapes from my father John A. Ward.
He passed three weeks ago and this is how I'm coping I guess.
He never had any of his music digital, only on tapes.
I was left with basically two to go through, not including some odds and ends, and one was pretty badly damaged so I salvaged what I could and created this album.
The album art is the facebook picture he had when he passed.
And probably close to one of the last photos taken of him.
These were recorded from early 80's to late 90's I'm guessing.
He probably had more that were lost for all we know but this is what I have left.
He recorded it all pre-internet and he had no music connections and never knew how to get his stuff out there.
Everything he did was done for just the few people he played with and his close friends and loved ones.
As far as I know he never even played a gig.
He instead focused on raising his kids, and starting a family.
You can hear his love for music and his talent.
The intent is there even if the quality is not.
He was bi-polar and struggled with addiction his whole life but these things didn't define him, they were just pieces of a much bigger whole, and he had nothing but good intentions.
The intro is audio that he recorded when he was 20 years old of news broadcasts about John Lennon's death.
I just wanted this to live on and be something more than just old tapes in a box somewhere.
He was a loving father, musician, and just great human being in general and I hope more people then just my family can find something in these recordings.
We miss you and we love you dad.

I wish this made everything right again,
but I know it doesn't.
Cherish the ones you love while they're here.
